he West Park Hospital
Foundation is guided
by a Board of Directors
that is committed to the mis-
sion of the foundation.
This group meets regularly
to ensure the foundation is
best able to work collabora-
tively and effectively with the
hospital to enhance health
care programs and services.
“Any decision to give is a
highly personal one and the
foundation greatly appreciates
the generous community we
are all fortunate to be a part
of,” foundation board chair
Michele Keith says.
The foundation raised more
than $300,000 in 2013 for a
variety of hospital projects.
“Farm to Fork – Local Is The
Best Medicine,” the founda-
tion’s fundraising event, gen-
erated more than $40,000
for projects related to WPH’s
Long Term Care Center.
“The West Park Hospital
Foundation has been extreme-
ly generous in assisting the
Long Term Care Center
with special projects,” LTCC
Administrator Jeanne Kaiser
said. “Last summer’s foun-
dation event raised funds to
provide installation of in-room
oxygen for more than 45 resi-
dents who previously did not
have this important conve-
nience.
“In addition, when the
mechanical lift on our facility’s
handicapped accessible van
recently needed to be replaced,
the foundation immediately
responded with an offer of
assistance to replace it. Our
residents and staff couldn’t be
more grateful.”
The West Park Hospital
Foundation is partnering
with WPH on the hospital’s
Community Health Series
which are free, public semi-
nars. Luncheons on the sec-
ond Thursday of the month
are being held every other
month in April, June, August,
October and December. They
cover important health top-
ics.
The first luncheon for
2014, “Red Dress Pink Rib-
bon” was Feb. 13 at the Park
County Public Library’s Bib-
lio Bistro. More than 60 com-
WPH Foundation works to enhance health care
Community members attend Red Dress Pink Ribbon in February. The event featured oncologist Dr. Carletta Collins and cardiologist
Dr. Andrew Rashkow.
Attendees received informational gift bags.
The event focused on women’s health.
munity members attended to
hear Dr. Andrew Rashkow,
cardiologist, and Dr. Car-
letta Collins, oncologist, dis-
cuss the latest information
on heart disease and cancer
screenings.
Make your reservations
now for the second Commu-
nity Health Series Luncheon,
“Stroke Warning Signs and
Symptoms.” It will be Thurs-
day, April 10, at the Buffalo
Bill Center of The West.
Dr. Charles Polley, emer-
gency medicine, Dr. Allen Gee,
neurologist, Michelle Christy,
West Park Hospital Rehab
Director, and local stroke sur-
vivor William Butler will dis-
cuss preventative measures
and warning signs and symp-
toms of strokes.
For more information or
reservations call Ashley Trudo
(578-2512) or West Park Hos-
pital Foundation Director Gra-
ham Jackson (578-2338).
Plans also are underway for
the foundation’s 2014 Fund-
raising Event, “Family is the
Best Medicine.” This Barn
Dance and Family Fun Day
will be at the Pitchfork Ranch
in Meeteetse on Saturday, July
19, 3-9 p.m.
“We are excited to hold an
event on the historic Pitchfork
Ranch with family as the focus
for 2014,” event chair Melanie
Lovelace says. “We will have
fun activities for children with
old fashioned hay rides and
games. Local entertainment
will be playing throughout the
afternoon and we are pleased
to have ‘Wylie and the Wild
West’ performing at 6:30 p.m.
for people of all ages.”
For more information on
the July 19 event, call Jackson,
578-2338.
The generous support of
their donors fuels everything
the West Park Hospital Foun-
dation does to support its mis-
sion of providing philanthropic
support to West Park Hospi-
tal for programs, services and
equipment to assure the high-
est quality of patient-centered
care and enhance the quality
of health.
The foundation’s responsi-
bility remains to ensure that
West Park Hospital is passed
along to future generations
and inspires in others a pas-
sion for quality health care.
